he Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Let’s Go!

This car needs no introduction. Tried and tested through the ages, the Alto is still around and still doing its job.

Designed as a small family car, the Alto fit the bill. It was small, easy to maintain and the fact that there are now 25,00,000 Altos on the road means it was a smashing success.

Engine:

One of the major updates to the Alto is the 998cc K10 petrol engine. The 3 cylinder 12 valve engine produces 68 PS @ 6200 rpm and 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm. With a class leading 20.92 kmpl the new Alto is very fuel efficient car. Getting to a 100 kmph takes about 13 seconds.

Exteriors:

The exteriors are on the same classic lines with a few tweaks. The new Alto gets a more rounded design. The front grille and clear lens head lamps are nicely integrated. The black housings for the fog lamps create a nice contrast to the otherwise solid body colour.

The body coloured bumpers and internal adjustable outside rear view mirrors are a nice touch. The Alto runs on 13” tubeless tyres.

Interiors:

The new front console gives the Alto a refreshed look. The front and rear seats get integrated headrests for maximum passenger comfort. The new front console and the two tone interiors give the Alto a fresh comfortable look.

The Alto is a versatile car. If more space is needed the backrests can be folded down.

The electronic trip meter and the tachometer give you enough information while on the move.

Safety:

The Alto make sure you and your family are safe while on the move and even at a standstill.

The Alto gets a collapsible steering column and side impact beams. The front fog lamps and head light levelling device ensure safety while driving after dark.

The Alto is well suited for the city as well as the highway. With a turning radius of 4.6 m it’s easy to get into the tightest of corners. Ground clearance is 160 mm ensuring that the Alto handles the city roads smoothly.

The peppy 998cc engine generating 68 PS makes highway driving a pleasure.
