Starting at Rs. 5,03,710/- and going up to Rs. 7,60,048/- (ex showroom Delhi), The Fiat Punto comes with three engine options, four variants and six colours to choose from. This makes the Punto a highly customizable car for any buyer.
Fiat has been producing the Punto internationally since 1993 and the car has seen a lot of design changes. With Fiat promising us another facelift for the Punto this year let’s take a look at the car as it stands today.
The exteriors:
Fiat has kept the classic design of the Punto from the early days with nips and tucks to stay with the times. The front grille with the Fiat logo in the center is bold and complements the teardrop headlights and the fog lights on the bumper.
The 12 spoke alloy wheels add to the charm. With a turning radius of 5 meters and best in class ground clearance of 195 mm the Punto is all set to take on Indian roads.
The Interiors:
The Punto gets a dual tone theme that including the seats and the dashboard. The driver’s seat is adjustable as is the steering wheel. Fiat has also included a clutch footrest for those long runs on the highway.
The outside rear view mirrors can be electrically adjusted. The power windows come with Delay and Auto Down functions. The rear window gets a wiper and washer and a defogger.
The rear seats can be folded to increase place for luggage and other emergencies. The seats get a 60:40 split for more convenience.
The engine:
The Fiat Punto gets three engine options. The 1.2L FIRE petrol engine and the 1.4L FIRE petrol engine deliver a fuel efficiency hovering at 15 kmpl.
The 1.3L MULTIJET diesel engine is the most frugal of the lot delivering a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl.
All engine configurations are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
Comfort, safety and tech:
The Punto comes loaded with technology to make your ride comfortable, entertaining and safe.
With keyless entry getting into the Punto is a breeze. The AC unit comes with Auto Climate Control and rear foot level ac vents are provided for passenger in the back.
ABS and EBD ensure smooth and controlled braking with ventilated disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear.
Auto door lock ensures that all the doors are locked while the car is in motion. There is also a Door Open indicator.
The Punto comes loaded with tech toys. The digital trip meter also give out information like real time mileage indicator, the distance to empty and the external temperature. There is even a programmable speed limit buzzer that lets you know when you go over a certain speed.
