If you are in the market for an entry level hatch back, you should check out the Datsun Go.
Launched in March 2014 the Datsun Go is well set to take on the competition in the small car segment.
The Go starts out at Rs. 3.12 lakh topping out at 3.69 lakh. It is offered in four options the D, D1, A and T. All variants come with a 1.2L petrol engine. Buyers can choose from four colours, Sky, White, Silver and Ruby.
Exterior:
The Datsun Go has been designed for the modern Family. Its smooth lines will catch your eye as will the honeycomb front grille. The front fender smoothly gels with the rest of the car and the V shaped bonnet and sweeping headlights give the Go a sporty aggressive look. The shoulders emerging from the rear doors add a nice rugged touch.
Interior:
Slide in to the Datsun Go and the first thing you will notice is the connected front seats. The gear lever is fitted into the centre console along with the hand brake, making it easy for passenger or driver to exit from any side of the vehicle.
The rear seat has good leg and knee room and can easily seat 3 adults.
Where the Datsun Go really shines is its massive boot. At 265 liters, it can handle all your luggage with ease.
Features:
The center console has a mobile docking station with USB charging and an Aux in. You can enjoy music stored on your phone as well as have access to your navigation apps.
Equipped with a drive computer the Go gives you information regarding fuel consumption and a really helpful Distance to empty meter.
It also has a gear shift guide indicating the ideal time to shift gears for optimum performance and efficiency.
Engine:
The Go is equipped with a 1.2L DOHC 12 Valve 3 Cylinder Petrol Engine mated to a 5 speed gear box. The engine produces 68 bhp at 5000rpm. With fuel consumption figure of 20.6kmpl and a tank capacity of 35 liters the typical range of the Datsun Go should hover around the 650 kilometer mark.
Verdict:
Apart from the above the Datsun Go is equipped with ventilated disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear. It comes with Speed Sensitive Power Steering and an intelligent wiper system.
A turning radius of just 4.6 meters ensures getting into the tightest of parking spaces is a breeze.
The Datsun Go could be the car of choice for buyers looking for a spacious, efficient and stylish car all within a very tight budget.
